truth be told, we left a land  of diamonds and gold; barefoot naked and scared; blackness walking through the night. guided with weapons drawn at our backs; this was not a cruise ship, nor a vacation; it was true domination, no turning back; some made it off the ship by jumping because it was bondage, they were just trying to swim back. 400 years have now past. we are now fighting in the streets because the police is killing us; can you do the math? how far have we come? these ghettos tell another story of black men, kids shot dead; yes! we are reminded that we are still africans, not americans.           Le' Andre' Dukes
